Quality and transparency are two of WOERLE's topmost principles. Successful implementation of high quality requirements is certified by independent experts. The company's focus in this context is mainly on food safety and product quality.

The company is certified according to the IFS Food Standard recognised by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative). The “International Food Standard” (IFS) is an important quality label for audits of food manufacturers and companies packaging loose food. In this respect, compliance with food regulations, more efficient use of resources and independent audits by SGS (SGS Austria Controll-Co GesmbH) play an important role. WOERLE is also certified as ORGANIC, NON-GMO (genetically unmodified) and HALAL according to the strict IIDZ regulations, and implements all HACCP measures that are also checked by IFS bodies on an on-going basis.

Credit where credit is due

WOERLE has produced its cheese delicacies with great love and care according to traditional recipes, which has resulted in several awards for the family-owned company. By now, WOERLE is proud to currently hold 14 CHEESE EMPEROR AWARDS. This annual award by AGRARMARKT AUSTRIA (AMA) is the highest cheese award in Austria.

A "Käsekaiser" for his life’s work

The international film industry has the Oscar. The Austrian cheese industry has its Käsekaiser – the highest award for exceptional deeds. Gerhard Woerle was bestowed with a special prize at the Käsekaiser Gala in November 2012. Agrarmarkt Austria awarded him the Käsekaiser in recognition of his life's work. This was in recognition of Gerhard Woerle's tireless efforts to develop the family business into one of the largest private cheese dairies in the country and his many years of commitment to domestic cheese and cheese production.
